Dac Pharma Coli-Stop tablets

Indication: Bacterial infections of the gastrointestinal tract (e.g. E-coli or Salmonella).
Combination tablet for oral treatment of bacterial infections of the gastrointestinal tract (e.g. E-coli or Salmonella) in pigeons.

Symptoms:
The E-coli bacterium is always present in the gastrointestinal tract of healthy birds and may therefore be considered as a normal inhabitant of the gut flora. However, the occurrence of other pathogens (such as the adeno virus) or stressful circumstances (in young birds) may lead to an explosive multiplication of E-coli.
The toxins created by this bacterium produce the following symptoms: increased water intake; bad appetite; vomiting; and water thin diarrhoea. The physical condition decreases rapidly and the bird loses weight. The sickness will spread through the bird accommodation in no time. In less than 48 hours, all young pigeons may become sick.

Treatment with antibiotics is inevitable.
Prevention of stress and the provision of proper hygiene in the cage are of the essence.
Also ensure optimum condition of the gut flora by regularly providing acidified drinking water. DAC Super elixir (D102), is highly suitable for this purpose.

Active ingredients: Neomycin Sulphate, Streptomycin Sulphate, Colistin Sulphate.

Dose:

• Preventive treatment: 1 tablet per pigeon, 1 day/2 consecutive days.
• Curative treatment: 1 tablet per pigeon, 3-5 consecutive days or as prescribed by an expert.

For treating large numbers of birds, FMT allroundmix (D067) or Trimethoprim/Sulfa (D083) can be administered in the drinking water or over the food.
